Is this a point-of-sale system?

No, and it is not trying to become one. SKUantify does not take payments, print receipts, open a cash drawer or manage a checkout queue.

It is the record behind the counter rather than the till on it. When something sells, you record the stock going out and the ledger explains the new quantity. If you need a till, keep the one you have.

Does it do accounting?

No. It values stock at weighted average cost and will tell you what your inventory is worth, which is a number your accountant will want. It does not produce ledgers, file returns or replace accounting software.

What do I need for barcodes?

Any barcode scanner that behaves like a keyboard — which is nearly all of them, wired or wireless, and they are inexpensive. The scanner types the code into the box and the item comes up.

There is no special hardware to buy from us, no driver to install, and nothing to pair. You can also just type the code, which is what most people do when the scanner is on the other side of the room.

Scanning with a phone camera is not available yet.

Can I use it on a phone?

The web application works in a mobile browser. A dedicated Android app is in development, built around the jobs that happen standing up — recording a movement, looking up an item, walking a stock count.

Can I have more than one location?

Yes, from the Growth plan up. Each plan sets how many. Stock is tracked per location, transfers write both sides at once so the total never dips while goods are in transit, and staff can be restricted to the locations they actually work at — they will not see stock or reports from anywhere else.

Starter is a single location, which suits one stockroom or one shop.

How do I get my existing stock in?

By CSV. Export from whatever you use now — a spreadsheet counts — and import products, variants and opening balances. The import previews what it will do before it does it, so you see the damage before agreeing to it rather than after.

On the Growth plan and above, setup assistance is included in the one-time onboarding fee and we will do the first import with you.

Does it connect to Shopify, Lazada, Shopee or my POS?

Not yet. There are no live integrations today, and we would rather say that than list logos we cannot back up. CSV import and export is the bridge in the meantime, and it handles a surprising amount.

An API and webhooks are planned. They are marked as planned on the pricing page and are not included in any plan until they exist.

What happens if I change plan?

Nothing is deleted, ever. If you move down and end up over the new limit — say ten locations on a plan allowing three — you keep all ten. You simply cannot add an eleventh until you are back under. Your records are not a lever we pull to get you to upgrade.

Can I correct a mistake?

You correct it by recording the correction, and both entries stay visible. Quantities are never typed over, because a number that can be edited is a number nobody can defend in a dispute.

That is the whole idea: any figure on any screen traces back to the movements that produced it, including the mistakes and the fixes.

What if two people record something at the same time?

Both are recorded correctly. Concurrent movements, transfers and counts are handled at the database level rather than hoped about, and this is covered by automated checks that run before anything ships.

Where is my data, and can I get it out?

On managed infrastructure in the United States — the privacy policy names every service involved and says exactly what each one sees. Every list exports to CSV and reports export to CSV and PDF, whenever you like, without asking us.
